Smile Though Art
Throughout history, artists have known that art provides benefits for both the creator and viewer. Current studies in the fields of art therapy, music therapy, and other creative modalities confirm that art can affect individuals in positive ways by inducing both psychological and physiological healing. We know that, in general, exercising our creative selves enhances quality of life and nurtures overall well-being.
Recent clinical research validates what some professionals and others who work with older adults have known for years—that making art is an essential, vital component of activities that offer a wide range of health benefits. Several studies show that art can reduce the depression and anxiety that are often symptomatic of chronic diseases.
The Arts and Crafts project has been a great activity to promote well-being and incorporate our philosophy of the “Sharing” Petal with all the members of the elderly home of CeCuida, with whom Florsani has been working for several years in different projects such as the Orchad and the CeCuida Kitchen.
Social engagement, which nearly all these programs provide, has been repeatedly found in major population studies to prolong life and enhance healthy aging. Clinically, the types of activities we support have been linked to increase levels of the “happiness hormones” that are responsible for a runner’s high.
That is why when you choose Florsani’s flowers or bouquets, you get to be part of more than 5 sustainable projects and make the world more joyful and better.
